About

The Triangle of Transformation

The Triangle of Transformation was created in response to the many clients who discover that they are "trapped" in the Drama Triangle in one or more of their personal and/or professional relationships.

The Triangle of Transformation was originally drawn as a side-by-side comparison to the Drama Triangle, to not only illustrate the Drama Triangle and the cycle they have been living out in their relationships, but to also illustrate the steps to be taken to get out of the trappings of the Drama Triangle.

The Triangle of Transformation has since been a very useful tool in helping clients visualize the journey in nearly any personal transformation process.

The points of the triangle are reminders that the points of the journey are discovery, empowerment, and transformation. The lines of the triangle represent the three stages of the journey itself, the work to be done: gaining awareness, acceptance, and integrated action.

Photographically, the triangle represents starting at a base level with discovery, and moving forward by doing the work of gaining awareness. As one begins to feel empowered, the work is furthered with the uphill climb of acceptance (often the most difficult stage in the journey), and then reaching the peak, which represents, new, higher perspectives; a mindset shift. With a transformed view, we can see more clearly what is before us, bring it in to focus, and continue our journey with integrated action. Integrated action does not represent a downward movement in life, but rather an easier forward movement, no longer stuck where we once were.
